I was born and raised in Western Oregon. The oldest of a whole bunch of siblings and cousins, there was little I did not think I could do, including traveling to remote tribes in Papua New Guinea, a resort in Havana, Cuba, and a village outside Belize City, Belize. After attending New Tribe Bible Institute (now Ethos 360) in Waukesha, WI, I married and moved to Boise, Idaho. I raised five spectacular adults who added three in-love children and ten grandchildren to my world. In 2019, God directed me to move to an area known as Shamrock, OK. He promised me a blessing if I moved here, but what I received was tenfold that promise. For most of my life, I have been pursuing the calling Jesus gave me - letting the LIGHT in me shine so everyone I have a relationship with has the opportunity to know Jesus and grow in their relationship with Him. Sometimes, this has been a straightforward calling, such as raising my children, caring full-time for my grandparents during their end-of-life years, and working as a case manager and director for the Boise Rescue Mission. Other times, it has been more of living out loud. Recently, I was in this situation. I worked for a therapeutic horsemanship program, transitioning from an AmeriCorps VISTA responsible for public relations to the Administrative Director in charge of the office staff, financials, and grant writing. The organization is not a religious ministry. Instead, they exist to help individuals with disabilities and life challenges reach for their highest potential with the help of a horse. I like to explain that they are a faith-driven organization - the leadership's relationship with Jesus drives how they run the organization. However, they are not actively evangelizing or discipling our participants.I have started a consulting business to help nonprofits obtain funding and develop policies and procedures that allow them to provide services within industry-accepted standards. I specialize in therapeutic horsemanship because seeing the connection between horses and people, empowering both to achieve joy and fulfillment, thrills my heart. I look forward to helping founders and executive directors dream beyond survival and see sustainability as achievable.

Director Of Women And Children'S MinistryBoise Rescue Mission Ministries Oct 2010 - Aug 2017Boise, Idaho, United StatesI began my time at the Boise Rescue Mission, serving as the overnight staff in the dorm for women who did not have children with them. During that time, I streamlined data entry processes, communicated with the overnight staff in another building for security, and interacted with our guests to meet their needs during the night. When the Guest Service Manager left, I was asked to take over managing both dorms. This position included managing a team of fifteen staff members and working as part of a leadership team to ensure our women and children had the opportunity to obtain housing, jobs, medical care, and other services. Over three years, I help create a new Case Management System that connected women with the best case manager for their situation so Case Managers could focus on one or two areas of specialty. As a result, we increased the number of women who obtained their GED and decreased recidivism by 20 %. Our program allowed guests to continue receiving support after they moved from the shelter in order to support them as needed. During this period, I also transitioned to the Director of Guest Services while helping the founding director transition to Director Emeritis. In 2014, I became the Director of Women and Children's Ministry, overseeing emergency shelters in two counties, a program for female veterans, a New Life Recovery Program, an educational department, and a children's program. I supervised 65 staff members and reported to the COO. I served as the Mission's representative on the Mayor's Coalition for Affordable Housing and Homelessness, Treasure Valley Joint Forces Coalition, The Canyon County Homeless Coalition, and Canyon County Veterans Support Network. I worked with treatment court case managers in Ada County and Canyon County, as well as Parole Officers and judges. -
