Manage both, pre- and post-award processes for an assigned portfolio of Dept. of Surgery faculty that include complex grants and contracts, multiple sub-awards and/or multi-investigators with the School of Medicine. As a part of the pre-award management, Alisha participates in submission of proposals for any sponsor, and her post-award management includes activities such as effort distributions, progress reporting, tracking expenses, summer salary payments to the faculty from the list of her assigned portfolio.

• Work closely with faculty principal investigators under the Office of the VP for Research's purview on timely preparation and prompt submission of internal routing forms for new and continued renewal of study related documents, and other regulatory protocols and documentation (departments include: Florida Ctr for Adv Aero-propulsion; Aero-propulsion, Megatronics & Energy Center; FAMU-FSU College of Engineering; National High Magnetic Field Laboratory; and the Center for Advanced Power Systems).• Monitor the compliance for research activities and ensure that all aspects of the studies are conducted in accordance with the studies protocol and contract, and that all legal aspects adhere to state and federal regulations and guidelines.• Maintain a thorough understanding of policies, procedures and standards of conduct that promote adherence to applicable laws, rules, and policies as well as the requirements of federal, state and private funding agencies. • Participate in strategic planning and special projects to meet the department’s goals.• Review narratives for English as a Second Language (ESL) speakers; checking spelling, punctuation, and form for completeness.

• Overseeing and supporting complex federal grants, processing monthly invoices from grantees, and auditing financial expenditures for appropriateness according to federal and state regulations. • Performed risk assessments, and completed desktop monitoring reviews monthly. • Developed programmatic recommendations to improve the effectiveness of risk management, internal control, and governance processes. • Completed Advancing Accountability and Contract Manager training for the State of Florida Department of Financial Services and received Florida Certified Contract Manager designation (FCCM).

• Responsible for the implementation of the monitoring process to ensure programs are in compliance with funded applications including risk assessments, preparing/developing reports, presentations, programmatic recommendations, internal control review, technical assistance, development and review of program budgets, policies, procedures, and approving corrective actions on audit findings.• Responsible for reviewing/testing internal controls for efficiency and effectiveness and compliance. • Performed on-site and desktop monitoring reviews of programs. • Presented and taught seminar class on navigating federal regulations and maintaining compliance.
