  There is a team of proof readers at Linklaters. I proof-read, co-ordinate our bookings, liaise with the solicitors and other service areas, allocate the workload and monitor progress towards meeting deadlines two days a week, as well as proof reading. The third day is devoted solely to proof reading.Linklaters' legal document examiners, unusually for legal proof readers, edit as well as proof read. The solicitors do the law - we check every other aspect of the document, ensuring it makes sense, is correctly spelled and formatted, and is grammatically correct and without typos. We put the text into house-style and either U.S. or UK spelling and punctuation, as required. My favourite thing is refining documents already semi-translated from their native language into legal English. We are exceptionally good at what we do - we have to be, when a mistake could cost millions.
