I have this constant gnawing desire in my gut to throw myself into the deep end of a pool. I took my junior year off from college, experienced two rigorous government internships, embarked on a life-changing six-month adventure of studying in China and traversing Japan, all self-financed through multiple part-time jobs.I left my job as a Product Manager for an amazing company, to do a 180 degree career shift and live in rural Taiwan as an English Teacher and cultural ambassador. I became a Business Analyst at the Institute of International Education, going full circle from utilizing software during the implementation of my Fulbright grant, to improving the same systems I used; from participant to the system’s subject matter expert. Every step of the way breeds uncertainty. However, I have learned to embrace the unknown and instead, constantly seek opportunities to keep challenging myself to grow personally and professionally. As I continue on my journey as a young professional, I hope to provide inspiration for others to pursue their passions, as well as lend a helping hand for those going through shared experiences.
