Hello, my name is Alison Hansen and I’m a fifth year Human-Centered Computing student at RIT. In my future career, I aspire to become a UX/UI designer. I have a passion for accessibility, usability, and creating intuitive interfaces for everyone. I’m exploring this passion in my current position as a research assistant at the Deaf Health Care and Biomedical Science Hub. Here, I am conducting a research project that focuses on improving the accessibility of patient portals used by medical facilities for Deaf and hard of hearing individuals. I also love coding and learning new programming languages. In past projects I’ve utilized HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Python, Java, C#, C, and PowerShell to create software. At my previous internship at Paychex, I used PowerShell and KQL to create an application that automatically applies labels on company wide resources to improve product visibility.
