Managing the CB04 Model to supply a 3D Foran model as designed by the ACA.Providing support to the Project Lead assisting in the distribution of work, task scheduling and the day to day running of the project.Responsible for monitoring project progress and reporting findings to the Project Lead.Ensuring that all staff are following the project procedure, techniques & policies for the production of the Foran 3D Model.Managing the Production of steelwork construction drawings for centre block CB04 for use by a tier 2 external ship yard.Mentoring less capable members of the team to work more efficiency & to produce better standards of work. Checking & coordinating that drawing content in Production output drawings is correct IAW the design intent of the project and conforms to drawing standards.Responsible for planning the drawing delivery programme to fall in line with the customer’s requirements & schedules. Providing a customer interface liaising with Cammell Laird’s Representatives.

Produce fabrication steelwork and outfit drawings for the Heavy Lifting Barge “Fairstar Fjell”Assisting the Project Manager in the distribution of work, task scheduling and the day to day running of the project.Responsible for monitoring project progress and reporting findings to the Project Manager.Ensuring that all staff are following the project procedure for the production of 3D Models.Responsible for planning the drawing delivery programe to fall in line with the customers requirements. Managing the Fjell 3D Models through the x-ref system to enable BD&T to supply a 3D model as contracted by Fairstar.Liaising with Fairstars Representatives.

Malta Shipyard.

I spent six months working for Malta Shipyards Ltd in Malta working on Fairmount Fjord heavy lifting Barge, Reporting to the Fairmount Heavy Lifting BV Chief Engineers. Responsibilities included dealing with any field changes that were required. Resolving general structural queries that arose due to design change/modifications etc. Onsite meetings with the client and all subcontractors. Producing detailed Liaison sketches. Providing Feedback to the Engineering Department on all deviations from the drawings.

Conoco Philips Contract reporting to the Design Development Project Manager.Responsible for taking basic design drawings from an oil industry drawing office and updating them so that they could be utilised for fabrication purposes and to create traceable weld maps of the complete sub sea structure. Responsible for extracting client supplied information, production of working drawings and Liaising with Fabrication/manufacturing workshops during manufacture of the product.

Team leader responsible for allocation of work to a team of between four and six Shipwrights.Involved in the structural/constructive aspect of refitting HM Submarines and HM Surface Warships throughout various departments within the dockyard. Duties included all structural matters occurring during refit periods (removals, resites & installations).Responsible for Acoustic Hull Tile Application documentation.Conduct visual / photographic surveys on ships and submarines, the recommendation of repair action, co-ordination of Hull survey surveillance register (HSSR), produce final survey report.

I served a 4 year apprenticeship as a Shipwright. The first 2 years were spent in training workshops learning basic constructive hand skills and theory. My final 2 years were spent working on submarines and surface ships, learning how to put these skills into practice.
