GBD, Cell Culture Development• Prepare and maintain perfusion bioreactors to harvest recombinant proteins produced from mammalian cell lines for upstream bioprocessing as part of Cell Culture Development team• Tasks include calibrating probes, trimming pumps, and writing protocols for setting up Device Control Units for the reactors• Inoculate and maintain bioreactors throughout perfusion run• Perform experiments focused on harvest protein potency through optimization of cell growth conditions with variability in temperature, cell specific perfusion rate, pH, oxygen consumption, and media composition. Cell growth and viability are assessed using an automated cell counter and analysis of metabolites• Analyze and present data for further experimental plans.• Train new employees and representatives from other departments on the perfusion process, sampling procedure, and analysis of data.• Support clinical manufacturing campaign to produce Antihemophilic Factor in a cGMP and FDA regulated environment. Responsibilities include preparation and maintenance of 15L and 200L bioreactors for large scale bioprocessing; and maintaining analytical equipment.
