I lead external-facing communication activities for the Real Pork Trust Consortium, a multi-university, interdisciplinary grant that brings together collaborators from five institutions to answer questions about pork and pork products while using evidence-based, peer-reviewed practices. I also mentor graduate graduate students in research methodologies and tailored communication strategies.

As a full-time doctoral student in Agricultural Leadership, Education and Communication, I explored the relationship dimensions between science and the public, specifically related to culture and communication through qualitative and quantitative research methods.

As a full-time student in the Department of Agricultural Leadership, Education and Communication I pursued my Master of Agricultural and Environmental Education with an emphasis in science communication. My interests during my MAEE included the global reach of agricultural research communication and bridging communication gaps.

In my role as an administrative associate, I managed day-to-day office operations to serve faculty and students in the University of Georgia's Department of Agricultural Leadership, Education and Communication.I handled course scheduling for the entire department and maintained a database of classes for ease of faculty decision-making.I maintained all online-based communication for the ALEC Department including social media, website content, and newsletter publication. Through implementing new social media scheduling and tracking tools, I grew social media traffic to the departmental website and achieved increases in engagement. I also worked with other communicators across campus to amplify messages and uphold UGA branding standards.Finally, supervising student office assistants provided me with managerial experience. From adjusting schedules to assigning tasks and interviewing candidates, working with students was a rewarding duty that gave great insight into the importance of leadership and grace in the workplace.

Super-Sod is one of the South's leading producers of turfgrass sod and seed. With farms and stores in Georgia and the Carolinas, the company is continuously seeking innovative ways to provide fresh sod and distribute lawn care knowledge to each customer.As Assistant Marketing Director, I crafted content and connected with customers to help empower homeowners in creating their ideal lawn. Through content marketing, I utilized CRM and CMS software to communicate and optimize messages for our audience so they could easily find a delightful way to start or refresh their yards. Through blog posts, photography, email marketing, infographics, promotional stories, and press releases, I helped educate homeowners on all that Super-Sod has to offer.To stay connected to the audience we reached through a variety of content, I also have the privilege of providing customer service across the Southeast by heading up our online chat program and managing our team of chat operators.

The Mission of National ACT is to build relationships among agricultural communication professionals and college students and faculty, to provide professional and academic development for members and to promote agriculture through communications efforts. As national vice president, I was primarily responsible for the Critique and Contest national competition. This competition provides agricultural communications students across the country with an opportunity to receive constructive criticism from agricultural communication professionals in six categories. The execution of the competition involved contacting judges, interacting with individual members as well as ACT chapters, competition reminders and securing sponsorships. I also worked with the four other members of the national officer team to provide communication among chapters nationwide and plan National ACT activities.

The Georgia dairy industry is home to a tight-knit group of men and women who are passionate about caring for their livestock and nurturing the world by providing high-quality milk. It was my honor to serve these farmers during my time at Georgia Milk Producers.As an employee of Georgia Milk Producers for an extended time during my college career, I was able to gain a holistic view of each aspect that goes into making the office function. I worked to promote the Georgia dairy industry in several facets. My duties included designing and maintaining Georgia Milk Producers and Georgia Dairy Youth Foundation promotional materials, fundraising materials and website pages. I also designed and organized Georgia Dairy Conference promotional materials and event registration webpages for exhibitors, sponsors, producers and guests. I prepared for and organized registration at the Georgia Dairy Conference while assisting in exhibitor relations.I gained proficiency in QuickBooks and was tasked with managing payments for Georgia Milk Producers and Georgia Dairy Youth Foundation. While I built financial management skills in this position, my main focus was communications. I edited and distributed weekly e-news and monthly newsletters to 350+ subscribers and wrote press releases for distribution to media outlets.

During my time serving as the marketing and communications intern for the American Hereford Association my mentor taught me how to work on the road. Traveling to and working in 11 different states during summer 2015, I gained knowledge on budgeting time and meeting deadlines.I expanded my journalism experience by writing stories for Hereford World Magazine and preparing press releases for AHA events, while I also gained photography skills during an ad campaign photo shoot and various events throughout the summer. At the largest event of the summer, I wrote, took pictures, and produced videos as part of the Communications Team for the week-long Junior National Hereford Expo.I learned digital marketing through a variety of campaigns including website editing, eNews distribution and Hereford Events app updates.
