About Allison Roach
I am a second year MSPO student at KSU with a passion for helping people and problem solving. I am the current Promoting Orthotics and Prosthetics (POP) president at KSU. POP focuses on educating the surrounding community about the field of prosthetics and orthotics while also providing a chance for volunteer opportunities in the field as well. Additionally, I am currently working on a research project focused on validating and analyzing clinical applications of OpenCap, an open-source kinematics capture software. I have previous experience with Hands on Prosthetic Engineering (HOPE), a nonprofit organization focused on 3D printing task specific devices for people at no cost. I worked on a senior design project with HOPE focused on creating a new attachment method for the devices. I also have research experience in the field of data analytics creating a data pipeline for cleaning, sorting, and detecting trends in EEG data in hopes of using them as a biomarker for Acute Stress Disorder. This provided invaluable experience with machine learning and data processing that I will use in future projects.
