After 11 devoted years in Higher Education, Allison was thrilled to expand and tackle the business sector to help small businesses establish strong operational systems and growth strategies, while still enjoying her first love of recruitment, to build rockstar teams for the future. She deeply appreciates the rare opportunity that this consulting work allowed her to pursue her other love of travel; taking her all around the world, from the bioluminescent grottos of Thailand to the dry mesas of Big Bend and Arches National Parks. She is now very excited to return to the fast-paced life of recruitment and in being back in service to a company she believes in and is working hard for innovation and positive impact in the world. Before this year of exploration, Allison passionately served for 11 years as the Associate Director of Admissions for St. John’s College, a small but one-of-a-kind liberal arts college that has, for more than 80 years, specialized in genuine and brave inquiry and engaged civil discourse. Through her tenure at the college and subsequent career in higher education, her passion for the Great Books and revolutionary, disruptive ideas has grown into a clear call to service in the fields of climate change, sustainable technologies and the empowerment of others. In addition to her service at the college, she was appointed as the first ever representative from New Mexico to serve on the Government Relations Committee for the Rocky Mountain region of NACAC (National Association of College Admissions Counseling), where she helped push through important legislation addressing accessibility for underrepresented populations and schools. She was also selected as New Mexico’s first representative in the College Board’s Enrollment Leadership Academy, which gave her more opportunity to represent New Mexico and its diverse population in the national conversations and arena. She has been proud to be so involved in the fight for open dialogue across socioeconomic barriers and in the push for honest personal and national reflection on the quickly evolving issues of engaged citizenry, climate change and sustainable technologies. She holds a master’s degree in the Liberal Arts where she studied the revolutionary voices in the fields of Science, Mathematics, Politics, Society, Philosophy, and History, through the Graduate Institute at St. John’s. She also holds a bachelor’s degree in Drama and Philosophy from Kenyon College, where she was especially lucky to be among the graduates for whom David Foster Wallace gave his iconic commencement address.
