Successfully manages and coordinates volunteers for the Mesa, Cave Creek, and Globe Ranger Districts on the Tonto National Forest; Volunteer program has grown 150% in the past 2 years and continues to do so.Collaborates with forest staff from 3 districts recruit, authorize, and initiate volunteer projects and programs across the Tonto National forest; works closely with all Forest Service departments to inventory potential projects. Oversees 130 volunteers and 30+ partner groups participating in a wide variety of volunteer work including but not limited to: trash pick-ups at developed recreation sites, Adopt-A-Trail maintenance days, Adopt-A-Site maintenance days, general recreation site maintenance, fencing projects, invasive species removal, and re-vegitation projects.Assists in the planning and facilitation of both new volunteer and returning volunteer orientations and trainings; Job Hazard Analysis and Blood Borne Pathogen Training.Completes volunteer on-boarding paperwork process; creates personalized volunteer agreements that comply with national requirements, ensures all required documents are properly submitted and filed.Understands and implements new procedures passed down from the Department of Agriculture.Successfully reviews safety regulations and JHA before projects, enforces safety regulations at events of up to 1300 volunteers.Manage recreation sites, enforce compliance with Recreation Pass program, and conduct vehicle patrols along the lower Salt River corridor and Saguaro Lake of both developed and dispersed sites.
