State Park Interpreter I
CurrentDevelops and implements high-quality interpretive programs to school groups, community groups, and the visiting general public. Interpretive programs include virtual and in-person school programs, walks, hikes, and tours, Junior Ranger programs, live stream interpretive talks, and programs for special events. Recruits, manages, and coordinates volunteers. Conducts training and program evaluation of volunteers covering both interpretive techniques and accurate information. Works with volunteers on scheduling, hour and program tracking, and other administrative requirements. Plans volunteer recognition activities and performs ongoing communication on Department policies, procedures and upcoming events.Provides high quality service in all areas of public contact including greeting park visitors and answering telephone and email inquiries. Manages park websites, apps and social media to ensure accurate and timely information is available to the public. Coordinates with other staff as appropriate on visitor accidents or concerns. Participates in special event planning and implementation where an interpretive component is included.
