Institute for Systems Biology (ISB) is a cross-disciplinary non-profit biomedical research organization dedicated to personalized medicine and the power of science to transform health. ISB is an affiliate of Providence.→ Led a rebrand of the organization across all platforms, channels and templates – including digital, print and environmental signage products, in collaboration with the senior leadership team and a design agency, that resulted in an increase in our donor base and the successful recruitment of top talent to high-visibility positions across the organization.→ Overhauled the organization’s outdated intranet. Conducted qualitative user research, business analysis, affinity mapping and cross-team product design, to streamline admin workflows and better scale the organization.→ Collaborated with renowned scientists to create compelling visual communication including cover art and graphical abstracts featured in high-impact journals such as Nature and Cell.→ Partnered with the Director of Communications to craft complex scientific research from various labs at ISB into accessible videos, short stories, and press releases resulting in media pickup from the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, and other leading news outlets.→ Designed marketing campaigns and digital assets to help raise over $25M from philanthropic donors.

→ Redesigned the main website to better suit the needs of the organization, including transitioning the content management system (CMS) from Drupal to Wordpress, making it responsive and mobile-friendly, bringing news into its core platform, and creating a multisite template for labs within the organization to level up overall branding and communication both internally and externally.→ Updated and refreshed design templates and swag, improving design consistency across the organization and increasing brand morale for employees.→ Illustrated and designed countless graphics, figures, microsites, booklets and proposals that promoted the organization’s research programs and events to wider audiences.→ Saved the organization tens of thousands of dollars annually by bringing graphic design in house, thereby removing the need for relying on external agencies.

Providence Genomics is a division of Providence, one of the nation’s largest nonprofit providers of healthcare, focused on implementing genomics technologies to create opportunities for personalized medicine and improved patient care.→ Designed the end-to-end user experience for multiple patient recruitment websites, including an electronic consent platform and dashboard interface for clinical study enrollment and education which improved access to clinical studies, and increased outreach efforts by 6.5X on initial launch.→ Brought in >1M dollars to ISB, and to date the platform has been used by nearly 5000 patients and dozens of clinicians. The platform and its design was so successful, it was leveraged by Providence to create a spin out company with this technology at its core.→ Analyzed user behavior to inform the redesign of a landing page for the pilot genomics and medicine study “Geno4ME” which resulted in a 3X increase of patient enrollment into the study.→ Collaborated with a team of clinicians and genomics professionals to transform educational documents on genomics and cancer into a series of animated videos that are used in clinics across the U.S., and translated into multiple languages.→ Established an animation style guide for Providence based on their brand guide that created a theme for educational animations that have been used in several subsequent programs and studies.→ Created templates for pharmacogenomic summary documents used by clinicians across the Providence network that facilitate scannable exposure to complex genetics topics, saving time and mental overhead.

Srishti School of Art, Design and Technology is a multi-disciplinary design school in Bangalore, India, that offers post-secondary design education in a variety of fields.→ Taught interdisciplinary classes, designed curriculum, and partnered with the National Centre for Biological Sciences, and a community art space called Jaaga, all furthering the relationship between art and science at Srishti. → Secured follow-on grant funding from Sir Ratan Tata Trust to the Center for Experimental Media Arts (CEMA) program through the writing of a report and funding proposal. →Mentored graduate students in the CEMA program.
