I am an ex-aspiring doctor turned engineer.I used to think that taking care of people through medicinal healing was the only way to make an impact on a person’s life; the thought started to fade when I owned my first mobile phone, which, for me, was the technology that ignited my interest in innovation. By the time college applications began, engineering had become my top choice program.For over two years, I worked as a network engineer at one of the major telecom vendors in the Philippines. I provided exceptional customer service to our clients by completing projects on time, and understanding the client’s needs and providing tailored solutions. I became proficient in networking technologies like BGP, OSPF, MPLS, L3VPN, and L2VPN. In one of my tasks, I developed a Python-programming script that helped finish what would have been a month-long work in just three days. It reminded me of my true passion, creating products that would make an immediate impact. Since then, I could not stop thinking about going back to school and learn more about artificial intelligence and machine learning (AI/ML). I am a recent graduate at Lambton College under its AI/ML post-graduate program. I intend to center my skills and qualifications around data professions such as Business Analyst, Data Analyst, Data Scientist, or Machine Learning positions. My decision to focus on the data profession is a result of combining two of my passions: collaboration and technology. Most of my personal projects and volunteer work are heavily influenced by my desire to help others.
