Hi, I'm Alyssa! I am a multi-media artist, creative maker & beauty professional based in Hartford, CT. I’m the hands & heart behind Born & Bred salon/studio - a multi-use space nestled in the Parkville section of the city. The salon houses my single-chair hair & makeup stations, & handful of my own family history including art, heirlooms & meaningful things I have collected along the way. My beauty work focuses on finding joy in being exactly who you are. Haircutting & color services for all people are offered in-studio by appointment. Hair styling & makeup application are available in-studio or on location for weddings & events.My creative studio sits across the hall & my art aims to use found items to create a multitude of goods. This includes custom keepsakes, resin preserved jewelry, wearable art, home décor & sewn bags, blankets & pouches. My focus is to use materials bound for the garbage in hopes it will help us find new perspective in the items we have & find beauty in what we would otherwise skim over.
