Hi! I am looking for a career where I can use my Mass Communications Writing and Research skills to help others learn more about what is going on in the world around them. I am currently a graduate student at San Jose State University, getting my M.S. in Journalism & Mass Communications.Last Spring, I served as a reporter, anchor, social media manager and producer for San Jose State University's Update News, and this has greatly interested me in the field of broadcast Journalism, and anchoring as a potential career. My experience in journalism began through pursuing it as my major at California State Monterey Bay, as well as being a reading and writing tutor for my college. I was able to be an editorial intern for theSocialTalks where I edited up to 5 articles daily and produced weekly articles. I have had opportunities to conduct interviews of local artists over podcasts, as well as serving as an Editor for my Community Journalism class. I am an articulate writer that specializes in informative, persuasive, argumentative, observational research based, solutions based, and critical writing pieces. Alongside my writing, I am a charismatic and lively person to be around and I can get along with just about anyone, which has been extremely useful in Journalism for getting people to feel comfortable when talking to me. Another skill of mine is that I am a visual artist, so I know what the creative process of making art can take, and how to translate that into other ways of thinking. I have extensive experience in plenty of mediums including cosmetics like makeup and hair styling, as well as physical arts like acrylics, watercolors, sculpting with clay and unconventional materials, and fashion design.Journalism is something I greatly enjoy doing, and I want to learn how to imbue it with other passions in my life such as Art, Fashion, Beauty, as well as Environmental Science/Studies. Being an editor, reporter, or news anchor in one of these fields is my ultimate goal.
