About Andrew Macintyre

I lead the Immunology Unit within the Duke Regional Biocontainment Laboratory (RBL), managing multiple collaborative and contract research projects for commercial, government and academic partners. My team and I design and implement assays to quantify immune reconstitution and immune responses. We specialize in lab automation, Luminex-based multiplex assays, flow cytometry, high-throughput ELISA, qRT-PCR, antigen receptor sequencing, and other molecular tests. The assays we develop and run support research into biodefense and critical public health challenges. Long-running collaborative projects include the evaluation of radiation countermeasures and the development of vaccines for influenza, SARS-CoV2, chlamydia, and gonorrhea.
