Back in 2009, my brother started his graduation and he got Nokia 5130 Xpress music. What did it mean to me? In the evening when he would come back, I can take his phone and play games.I vividly remember two in-built games that I enjoyed playing for a period of time. But, soon I was getting bored. And I wanted to find alternatives. But, I didn’t know how can I? Then I got to know about the Internet from Brother. Back then, every Sunday I used to do Rs. 10 top-ups for 10 MB data, I consume every bit of it looking for games. I downloaded a couple of games, but, they didn’t work. The kid inside me got sad and started looking for answers on Web. Oh my bad! I was downloading Windows games on a phone that works on Java OS. Then, I searched for Java games and landed on cool websites like GetJar, Phoneky, etc. I used to try out new games & software. I still remember a Bluetooth software that allowed me to control the other person’s phone (It was soo cool!). I started realizing the power of the Internet – You can find everything over it, If you know to do in the right way (It was my inquisitive mind which was allowing me to do it). Soon, I was getting a hang of the internet and did some silly things like finding tricks to use high-speed Internet for free, downloading movies, games, how to refurbish software on a dead phone, Install new custom ROMs. That’s all I was doing in my free time while pursuing graduation. It doesn’t mean that I didn’t study – I got honors Degree :P. - I am a person who can understand things to a level that in my mind I can imagine how they work. In the process, I got placed at GreyB. When I sat for the interview, I didn’t know anything about GreyB until my Joining day. On the first day, I came with a mindset to check what GreyB is, what they do. In a few days, I got to know about work – that’s when I start finding an inherent liking to do things i.e. find information (we call it Prior-arts) that can save clients money. I was using my knowledge to understand things (patents) and look for solutions (prior-arts) – I was somewhat helped with the inherent skills that I developed as a kid (Of course my mentors were there too). In my first project itself, I was able to find 4 killing prior-arts. Over my time at GreyB, I have worked on many high-tech patents (on LTE/5G, etc.) involved in high-profile litigation cases, and helped clients win by killing them.I want to end by saying - I am good at two things – (i) Understanding technologies in-depth and (ii) finding information to solve client problems.
