Amanda Augustine hails from California and has served as the Tribal Chairwoman at Augustine Band of Cahuilla Indians for several years. In this capacity, she holds a seat on the Tribal Council, overseeing all governmental operations including the creation of Tribal law, programs, and grant applications.Amanda's educational journey began at community colleges before she transferred to the University of Phoenix, where she earned her bachelor's degree. She later pursued a Master’s of Science in Industrial/Organizational Psychology at Capella University.Her tenure at Augustine Band of Cahuilla has allowed her to apply her academic background effectively, particularly in addressing human resources challenges using insights from her education. This experience has further honed her leadership skills and emotional intelligence.Amanda graduate in May 2024 with a Master's in Indigenous People Law, which equips her with a deeper understanding of Tribal laws and their origins. This knowledge is instrumental in navigating legal matters with counsel and external bodies such as the Federal and State government. Her goal is to leverage this expertise to advance Indian law knowledge and benefit Augustine Band of Cahuilla Indians.
