Within this role, I supported all elements of planning and logistics for the Commonwealth Games 2022. I undertook a pivotal function during key meetings, to discuss required resources for the policing operation for this illustrious event. I developed spreadsheets followed by circulating the data to officers, advising on assigned work location, the role, daily TOD, callsign, allocated team, alongside recording dietary requirements.I contributed to setting up the logistics cell and help desk line prior to the launch of the Commonwealth Games and facilitated logistics workstreams, assigning with Accommodation, Catering, Staff Welfare Hubs (SWHUBS), Transport, Warehouse, and general logistics roles and accountabilities.With strong team working attributes, I collaborated with Departmental Heads and staff to communicate the status of planning stages to resolve issues which may have arisen.In terms of achievements, I ensured optimal safety and security at the Commonwealth Games, which I accomplished through posting over 1,500 police officers and staff to cover countless venues, roles and shift patterns. Moreover, I supported workstream planning through liaison with other Commonwealth Games workstreams e.g. Search, Dogs, Catering, Transport, Accommodation and so forth, to ensure staff were aware of, and understood posting details. I also helped to manage all Structured Debriefs to facilitate independent reporting for future events.

In this function, I demonstrated confident communication abilities while attending and engaging at Safety Advisory group meetings; additionally, I regularly interacted with public, private and voluntary organisations while fostering and managing reliable professional relationships. Likewise, I collaborated with stakeholders to manage the planning for a presidential visit and other VIP visits, EDL protests and Birmingham marathon, as well as facilitating football match planning and high-profile operations.During this time, I was selected as the lead planner for numerous events, including the Godiva Festival, Mischief Fortnight, the BBC Big Weekend, the Frankfurt Christmas Market alongside other key events, such as elections. I worked on the policing response to the Manchester and London terrorist incidents, including setting up the ECS (Event Control Suite) with the Silver Commander and other colleagues, and working collectively with Shared Services to organise accommodation for mutual aid officers.Furthermore, I optimised ways of working through devising and implementing an efficient and streamlined filing system. I worked cohesively with Close Protection Officers (Firearms), overseeing VIP visits, liaising with the site location contacts, airports and other transport operatives to ensure seamless transfer of the VIP as well as liaising with colleagues from other force divisions to ensure the safety of VIPs.

Here, I was integral on the Olympic Games LPU (Local Policing Unit) deployments and the Security uplift, as well as working on the Torch Relay. I used my robust organisational skills when arranging appropriate staffing levels, briefing and feeding locations and logistics for officers. Additionally, I attested impeccable attention to detail, investigative competence and accurate decision-making ability when processing applications for personal licences and premise licence applications.I provided support for the planning and organisation of large-scale events, including managing briefing and logistics elements, playing an instrumental role within the planning team, actively involved during Silver meetings led by the Silver Commander.I attended licencing hearings and took premises to court, using my investigative skills to approve or reject applications, based on intelligence, calls to service, personal convictions and more.

Within the ECS (Event Control Suite), I undertook the role of Silver Staff Officer and Office Manager. I successfully organised large-scale events, including St Patrick’s day, Handsworth Carnival as well as facilitating other key events including Vaisakhi, Pride and the Pope’s visit, alongside EDL protests and Op Bliss (Gurdwara protest).I also worked with contacts from other departments such as Emergency Planning and with Gold and Silver Commanders during the 2011 riots, ensuring accommodation, transport and meals were efficiently organised for officers.

Through my role, I was the initial contact for frontline incidents, from lost property to murder; responding to calls and requests from the public to assist with such incidences, followed by obtaining vital evidence, intelligence and witness accounts. Moreover, I was the Domestic Abuse Officer with the Family Protection Unit, which included working collaboratively with the Child Abuse team. I conducted training regarding Domestic Abuse to police officers and other agencies (one-to-ones and group sessions), and I was handpicked as the Neighbourhood Officer, overseeing crime cases within the local neighbourhood.Additionally, I performed the role of Mental Health Liaison Officer, collaborating with staff to handle crime and use mobile video equipment to interview residents concerning crimes. Likewise, I was the Liaison Officer for HMP Birmingham, handling crimes within the prison.During this post, I helped to drive down domestic crime incidents, achieved through customising and supporting the management of an effective system created by West Yorkshire Police. I also boosted domestic crime awareness through creation and publication of the ‘Helping Hands’ leaflet for victims of such.

I was the key contact at the front office of Smithwick Police Station, dealing with enquiries from the public, including lost and found property and undertook accurate statement writing. I also provided a first-class administration service across the police station, including answering the phone and updating the briefing book etc.

My role within the Publicity & Marketing department as well as general administration duties - including stock control, typing, filing, maintaining records and accounts and handling telephone calls. I organised and assisted in meetings, conferences and exhibitions - abroad and in the UK - finding suitable venues, accommodation, accreditation and entertainment. In addition I also produced and compiled articles for the international in-house company magazine - editing the publication prior to print and dispatch of a circulation of 3500+ worldwide.

As a Gold Star cashier (which included additional training) I worked in the flagship shops around the West Midlands area. I maintained responsibility for all cashiers within the shop, overseeing the taking, receiving and settling of bets and cash transactions. I dealt with a wide range of customers on a daily basis including sometimes difficult and abusive individuals. In addition I provided management cover in the managers absence ensuring a smooth and efficient operation was maintained.
