Planning/Logistics Officer – Commonwealth Games 2022West Midlands Police Jul 2019 - Oct 2022Birmingham, England, United KingdomWithin this role, I supported all elements of planning and logistics for the Commonwealth Games 2022. I undertook a pivotal function during key meetings, to discuss required resources for the policing operation for this illustrious event. I developed spreadsheets followed by circulating the data to officers, advising on assigned work location, the role, daily TOD, callsign, allocated team, alongside recording dietary requirements.I contributed to setting up the logistics cell and help desk line prior to the launch of the Commonwealth Games and facilitated logistics workstreams, assigning with Accommodation, Catering, Staff Welfare Hubs (SWHUBS), Transport, Warehouse, and general logistics roles and accountabilities.With strong team working attributes, I collaborated with Departmental Heads and staff to communicate the status of planning stages to resolve issues which may have arisen.In terms of achievements, I ensured optimal safety and security at the Commonwealth Games, which I accomplished through posting over 1,500 police officers and staff to cover countless venues, roles and shift patterns. Moreover, I supported workstream planning through liaison with other Commonwealth Games workstreams e.g. Search, Dogs, Catering, Transport, Accommodation and so forth, to ensure staff were aware of, and understood posting details. I also helped to manage all Structured Debriefs to facilitate independent reporting for future events. -
