During my undergraduate studies at UNB, I had the opportunity to join a research group focused on analyzing psychological distress during the pandemic. This transformative experience showed me how the use of data cleaning, hypothesis testing, and statistics can generate precise and relevant analyses, revealing stories and offering solutions to real problems.Additionally, I completed a nursing specialization in India, where I gained experience working and communicating in English, enhancing my cultural perspective and communication skills in an international environment.Inspired by this experience, I developed my thesis investigating the impacts of social distancing and coping strategies among young people. Using Python and its libraries such as pandas, matplotlib, Seaborn, and Numpy, I was able to transform complex data into valuable insights that highlighted how the pandemic profoundly affected the emotional well-being of young people. This research solidified my decision to pursue a career in data science.Currently, I am deepening my knowledge and skills in data science through various projects on the CodeCademy platform. I have been honing my abilities in SQL, Python, Tableau, Excel, sklearn, and Jupyter, applying data visualization techniques to create impactful analyses. Each project is an opportunity to learn something new and apply my knowledge in a practical way.My experience as a nurse taught me the importance of accuracy and critical analysis, skills I now apply in data science to derive meaningful insights and contribute to informed decision-making. I am excited to explore how data can transform healthcare and other industries, bringing improvements and innovations that truly make a difference in people's lives.
