Amanda Davison is a board-certified Medical Laboratory Scientist through the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP). She graduated from Missouri State University with a Bachelor of Science in Cellular/Molecular Biology and a Bachelor of Science in Clinical Laboratory Sciences. She completed her clinical rotations at CoxHealth Medical Center, and she became a night shift technologist. She has been a shift lead on night shift, and has expertise in workflow adjustment, troubleshooting, and adaptation to high stress situations.Throughout her career, she has strived to be a Medical Laboratory Scientist with technical knowledge to improve and maintain patient safety, and to provide patient care staff with accurate results in a timely manner. Amanda has experience as a generalist, with knowledge of all areas of the laboratory, including blood bank, chemistry, hematology, coagulation, urinalysis, serology, and microbiology. Early in her career, she was an on-shift COVID-19 Technologist and was responsible for managing COVID-19 specimen transportation and testing. This responsibility was in addition to her departmental benchwork. She also became an on-shift lead technologist with rotating duties up at CoxHealth Noth Hospital on overnight shifts, where she individually handled departmental duties in all areas of the laboratory, including: Chemistry, Hematology, Urinalysis, Microbiology, Blood Bank, Kit testing, and Specimen processing. She moved to CompHealth as a Travel Medical Laboratory Scientist and worked at two critical access hospitals, Golden Valley Memorial Hospital in Clinton, MO, and Cedar County Memorial Hospital in El Dorado Springs, MO. On these two separate contracts, she worked night shift individually with one phlebotomist, then day shift with a team, respectively. At Cedar County Memorial Hospital, she helped the hospital laboratory complete a CLIA inspection. Currently, Amanda works at QPS, LLC. In her time at QPS, she has written numerous laboratory technical and general operation SOPs, completed analyzer implementation and validation, completed correlation studies, performed in-depth LIS administration, in addition to training new operators across the laboratory, and leading decision-making conversations to further the laboratory project.
