I still consider myself a stay at home mom since I do only work part-time right now, and now that I have two children I am learning even more from it. I’m learning to multi-task, stay calm under pressure, time management, and conflict resolution. I love being able to spend so much time with my children, and I love how much I am learning from it.

I was a supervisor at Lifetime Fitness in the Lifecafe. Part of my duties were to, supervise other employees, count the registers and safe at the end of my shift, sanitation, prepare food at the start of the day, inventory, customer service and sell customers on our products. I also had the duty of opening and closing the cafe, to make sure that everything was stocked and ready for the next day as well.

Eastern Illinois University

For my last semester at Eastern Illinois University, I worked at the Martin Luther King Jr. University Union. I worked there as a simple team member, however, it taught me many traits. It taught me that no matter what to always be an excellent team member, and how to work with others in a positive way.

I was the manager of a little ice cream shop entitled, How Sweet It Is. I was in charge of ordering, customer service, marketing and advertising the store, and inventory. I enjoyed this job like no other. It taught me the ways of being a successful manager, and taught me how one day I could be a successful business owner. I loved the feeling of being someone important.

For close to three years I was an assistant coach for the Bloomingdale Bears cheerleading team. I stuck with that team because I loved to watch them grow into amazing young women. I loved being a role model, someone those girls could look up to. Not only did I make practices fun, but I was also stern when I had to be. It taught me how to care for younger kids and teach them morals that I had been taught by my previous coaches. If I could go back and do it again, I would.

I served as a lifeguard at the Bloomingdale Park District during my years in high school. This job taught me important life skills such as first aid, CPR, and just caring for others when a life-threatening situation has occurred. Ever since I worked here, I remember how to operate CPR and I ensure to keep up with the changing rules every year. I enjoy taking care of others when they are in need. It makes me feel responsible and important. This simple high school job has prepared me for my future.

For two years I was a swim instructor for a toddlers class entitled, Little Nemos. I loved coaching the children because I had the opportunity to make class not only educational, but also extremely fun! I thoroughly enjoyed watching those children swim and learn new skills. When they would get that big smile on their face and run to their parents bragging that they learned something new made me feel extremely accomplished. Knowing that I took the knowledge I had learned and correctly taught it to them was an incredible feeling. I loved being a swim coach for the Little Nemos.
