Oversee 25 (and growing) occupational therapists across 11 outpatient neuro clinics in central Florida. Develop quality-improvement initiatives, new programs such as generalist driving screens & Vivistim VNS Paired Rehab, and provide clinical education through quarterly clinical breakouts. Train all new hires in evidence-based methods covering hemiplegia rehab, vision rehab, and cognitive interventions.

With experience treating 20+ Vivistim patients and developing a successful program within a large hospital system, I share my knowledge with other health care professionals. This involves presentations to physicians, therapists, and administrators as well as 1:1 meetings to problem solve specific concerns. In this role, I also teach clinicians through interactive lectures in best rehab practices paired with VNS through in-person educational summits.

Outpatient Rehab & Home Health

In this inpatient rehabilitation setting, I managed a caseload of 4-5 patients per day with daily 30-minute group sessions. Common diagnoses included CVA, MS, PD, SCI, post-orthopedic surgery, amputation, and general debility. This opportunity improved my ability to communicate with families and provide instruction on adaptive equipment and alternative methods to improve safety in ADLs upon discharge.

At Presence Resurrection Medical Center's day rehabilitation center, I managed a caseload of 7 patients per day with primarily neurological diagnoses. Common interventions included: soft tissue mobilization, joint/scapular mobilization, functional NMES, training of SAEBO products, kinesiotape, strengthening, fine motor control activities, education on adaptive equipment, and IADL re-training.

At the Julie and Michael Tracy Foundation, I was the co-leader of weekly group sessions consisting of 4-6 young men with Autism Spectrum Disorder. The main goal of these groups were to build communication, teamwork, and confidence through creative activities such as meal preparation and cooperative games.

As a research assistant for a study on pediatric asthma, my responsibilities included: monitoring the EMR of the emergency department for eligible participants, administering questionnaires and assessments to children and their parents, coding/entering data into SPSS software, and producing a comprehensive protocol manual.

In this fast-paced outpatient setting, I was responsible for operating modalities such as TENS and ultrasound, instruct and monitor the performance of each patient's exercises, perform stretches to reduce tightness, and communicate with patients to complete daily SOAP notes.
