About Amanda W.

I often ask people to picture the end of a great workday, and to identify what made it feel great. For me, that feeling comes from knowing that I advocated for or improved the lives of other people, even in a small way. This is true for me in work, and in my personal life. It’s why I care about politics, why I fundraised for non-profit and advocacy orgs, and why I found a passion in making work more humane and equitable in People Ops. All this has led me to a place where I know I work best on an empathetic and supportive team in a role that allows me to bring care for and partnership with people into my work. You can see from my experience that I’m capable of a lot. I can happily flex from being an IC to a leader of teams, projects, and programs. I can create and improve systems from quite simplistic to incredibly complex. Here are some things you might not be able to tell from looking at my work experience:- I’m not hung up on job titles or above any level of work. I’m more concerned with work that fits my life and my passions, and in contributing to a great team that cares about each other. - I foster environments where people can be themselves, innovate, miss the mark, and be vulnerable in their quest to grow. I’m a driver of individual success, and have seen my team grow by leaps and bounds.- I’ve been called an employee advocate, an envelope pusher, and the person not afraid to talk about the tough stuff like bias, inequity, and conflict to name a few. I use a thoughtful, empathetic, and humble approach required to bring all sides to the table and open otherwise closed lines of communication.- I hold myself and my work to a very high bar and I can’t stand not delivering on what I promised. - I’m a lifelong learner who asks questions, generates ideas, and stays humble and open to new information.- Laughter is really important to me and has helped me through the roughest parts of life. I try to bring joy through humor...and corny jokes of course.Let me know what makes for a great work day for you, or maybe your favorite corny joke!**All views and opinions expressed are my own and do not necessarily reflect those of my employer**
