Lecturer for the Metropolitan College of Arts for graduate students earning MA/MFA and for those enrolled in certificate programs. Designed and implemented curricula for the following courses: AR750 Nonprofit Financial Management (in person and online): This course provides an overview of nonprofit financial management including in-depth data about the nonprofit sector, basic understanding of financial concepts and calculations, interpretation of financial documents such as IRS Form 990s and audited financial statements, introduction to the budgeting process, and application to real nonprofit organizations. AR781 The Modern Nonprofit Sector: This course analyzes inequities within the nonprofit sector with a focus on relationships with funders and donors, gaps in gender and race demographics, and discussion of the structural solutions to systemic problems.

In this role, I've had the opportunity to support the Boston Foundation's COVID-19 Response Fund's genesis, execution, and follow-up by developing efficient and impactful strategies for the equitable distribution of funds, connecting with our nonprofit partners, collecting stories, data, and quotes, authoring comprehensive reports, and responsibly closing the Fund.I am also responsible for leading the department's efforts in equitable grantmaking by incorporating feedback we've received from our nonprofit partners, lessons we've learned during the pandemic, and other emerging practices we've been following in the field and implementing sustainable practices into our grantmaking processes including applications, access to funding, reporting, equitable resource allocation, and more.

As Assistant Director of Programs Learning and Engagement, I managed the Boston Foundation's efforts around data management and nonprofit communications for our grantmaking initiatives. My team was responsible for supporting the Program Department's collection, analysis, and communication of data and the creation of data tools for more effective and impactful decision-making, We also supported the Department's communication and engagement with grantees and perspective grantees. I led the Foundation's impact measurement work, providing technical support to Program staff for their measurement, data collection, analysis and learning activities. I conducted analysis to inform strategic planning and reflection, program technology integration, and internal and external evaluation.

I manage The Giving Common, an online platform that connects you to in-depth information about nonprofit organizations working to enhance communities across Massachusetts. Nonprofits are able to share their stories in their own words, collect credit card donations, and benefit from our data-sharing technology. Donors and funders use the platform to make informed decisions about their giving. I also compile, analyze, and distribute data about the nonprofit sector to donors, institutional funders, nonprofit leaders, and policy makers. I participate in capacity building activities and serve on grant review committees that support internal and external projects.

Conducted in-depth analysis for non-profit clients' financial statements and donor bases. Prepared internal materials to contribute to sector-wide research topics including churn data, aging donors, and diversifying revenue streams.

Facilitated the Framingham Teen Pregnancy Prevention Coalition; managed the Youth Venture program, a collaboration of the United Way and Ashoka Youth Venture; collaborated with the Resource Development team to conduct speaking engagements for corporate campaigns; developed and implemented strategies to integrate direct services into the UWTC community; authored grants to support UWTC direct services. Supervised program staff, interns, and youth; conducted weekly staff meetings to address ongoing projects, tasks, and strategies; guided the overall direction of the program in accordance with the T.E. model; facilitated and managed the Somerville Youth Workers Network; attended and co-facilitated weekly meetings of the Teen Empowerment management team; represented Teen Empowerment at strategic meetings with grant partners, funders, and public officials; spearheaded the third and fourth annual Somerville Youth Peace Conferences, each of which brought together over 700 youth and adults, 30 community partner agencies, the Somerville Police Department, and the Office of Mayor Joseph Curtatone.

Trained hired youth to comprehend social justice issues such as educational equality, gender dynamics, classism and racism; created initiatives to impact these issues through artistic vehicles. Enforced and maintained a youth behavior management model involving a structured feedback and contract system. Facilitated small group sessions and police-youth dialogues in community settings. Regularly collaborated with other organizations such as the Somerville Police Department, Mayor's Office, and non-profit organizations to organize events and share information on youth issues in the city. Planned and organized the first and second annual Somerville Youth Peace Conferences with an average audience of 700 youth and adults.

Created and implemented daily lessons in reading, writing, and language development for first and second grade English Language Learners. Individualized instruction for children at reading levels ranging from pre-literacy to 5th grade. Collaborated with first and second grade team members, curriculum coordinator, ESL staff, and administrators to develop curriculum and implement instructional tests to students. Communicated daily with parents in both English and Spanish to create an effective academic environment.
