The existing AX tool was migrated into GSAP. But historical data from AX is not moved into GSAP because of incompatibility. The business team wanted old AX data Reports for credit recovery. Challenge was how to rebuild AX reports without requirements and business logic(AX is already gone through end-of-life). SFS BI Team rebuild these AX reports in Power BI going with extra mile just by looking into existing AX reports output screenshots.> AX system was migrated into GSAP, but historical data has not moved into GSAP because of incompatibility.> Challenge 1: AX product is already reached its end of life & out of support. So how to use AX's existing data/reports?> Challenge 2: AX won't keep requirement documents/ business logic since the reports are inbuilt. I accepted the challenge and developed all AX reports in Power BI without having requirements.> How: 4+ Committed colleagues, Framework based on Microsoft Azure, SQL Server, Power BI, Databricks, Scope was all countries.> Trained 40+ UAT testers and 300+ end users for new technology Power BI to use the reports.> Outcome: All AX reports were developed in Power BI, and 300+ end users started using these reports, with country and Report based access to each user for security.> Implementation completed in only ~2 months, total $550K cost saving($150K AX rebuilding and $400K AX licenses & Vendor support cost) per annum, i.e., now the total cost of support is $3K per annum.> AX Database enablement to SFSBI space(reduction in cost from $17K to $3K per annum)> AX Decommissioning.
