The ambiance of Spice & Tea is to create an experience for the customers. Greet our guests and walk them around the world with the jars on the wall. Answer all questions of origin, allergen, experimentation, preparation, and expiration of 300+ edible products we have in stock. Preparing cups of tea at our bar and tea samples for our daily guests. Bagging and scaling our many spices, tea, sugars, salts, peppers, herbs, and blends per low supply in stock and customer request for consumption. Handle cash, credit or check transactions. Answer phones. Create lists for our owner for ordering and rotating our spices. Re-blending our weekly low blend supply. Restocking shelves and accessories. Daily janitorial duties: wiping counters, replacing paper towels, trash bags, tea bar supplies, sweeping and mopping floors.

With my short time at Our Kids Our Commitment, I hit the city streets and began collecting signatures from voters in Allegheny County to be placed on an upcoming ballot to reinstate afterschool prgrams, early learning centers and wholesome meals for kids in Allegeny County.

Shipping merchandise to different stores per request of the customer. Creating registries for upcoming brides. Authorizing key-turns, training new employees on the previous tasks I listed. Daily janitorial duties: mopping, sweeping, cleaning toilets, sinks, shelves, pots, stockrooms. Closing and counting registers and then counting the safe. I was never late even when I moved across the city and caught 2 buses back and forth daily. Place me in any Bed Bath & Beyond in the country and I will outshine its chaos.

Weekday mornings I’d prepare and serve coffee to the locals of Homestead. Saturday afternoons I’d serve meals to the same locals and set up sound and video equipment for the church service that followed the meal. During the school year the coffee shop served as an afterschool program for kids who needed a wholesome meal and help with their homework. Often the church would visit the Bruderhof Community in Farmington, PA to offer our help with farming with their harvesting and learning how a self-sufficient community thrives.
