I teach seniors physics and juniors engineering at Burton High School in San Francisco Unified School District using hands on activities to teach students about kinematics, energy, thermodynamics and electromagnetism. Example projects include: water bottle rockets, rube goldberg machines, and solar homes.I run the IGNITE (Inspiring Girls Now in Technology Evolution) chapter at Burton High School and have inspired hundreds of girls to pursue STEM careers!I led the senior class team from 2014-2016 and am the IGNITE (Inspiring Girls Now in Technology Evolution) adviser.

Bridged Career and College planning with engineering and science projects to expose students to environmental technology, especially in the study of water during a time of drought. Hands on projects included technology to use salt water to make fresh drinking water, visualizing and making decisions on how diets affect society's water use, modeling how we obtain San Francisco's drinking water from Hetch Hetchy by learning about siphons and our gravity powered system, visiting Islais Creek and having a professional Environmental Consultant test the water and make conclusions about it's state of pollution, and visiting the California Academy of Sciences to see what is at stake based on our decisions around water. Students' career opportunities included 2 week long internships at the Wastewater Treatment Plant and PG&E to learn more about what full time employees do who work for environmental technology organizations.

I taught 9th grade Conceptual Physics at an urban high school. I began the school year with my students and set up the norms with them. I also planned learning activities including demonstrations of physics concepts, interactive group work, and physics labs. I taught motion, force, Newton's laws, momentum, and energy using interactive group activities like predicting and exploring how much work it takes to do various physical exercises. I also fine tuned my classroom management skills and worked extensively with special educators to meet the needs of the students in my classroom.
