I am a Gastrointestinal Surgeon at a tertiary care hospital in Bangalore, India, I graduated from the GMC, Mysore and did M.S. from AFMC Pune where I secured second rank in the university along with distinction in practical examinations. Thereafter, I completed M.Ch. from the premier institution, AIIMS, New Delhi. I have recently been admitted as a Surgical Fellow to the Royal College of Physicans and Surgeons (Glasgow). I have a vast experience of managing and operating cases pertaining to all aspects of gastrointestinal surgery and specialize in hepato-biliary- pancreatic surgeries as well as colorectal/esophageal surgeries. I have gone on to polish my skills in minimally invasive surgery and do a large proportion of these surgeries laparoscopically. Apart from this, I have an interest in bariatric/metabolic surgeries too. I have an inclination towards research with my field of interest being gall bladder cancers, surgery for pancreatic cancers and improving outcomes in laparoscopic surgery. I have published many articles in both national as well as international journals and a couple of them have won awards. I have presented papers in national/international conferences and have been a faculty at many of these conferences. At present I am a reviewer for 20 journals and on the editorial board of three journals. I am an accomplished teacher for the past 17 years and have been appointed as a subject expert in Surgery for the National Board of Examinations.
