I was a clinical champion in the IMOC (Interdisciplinary Model of Care) initiative by MedStar, where the evaluation dashboard includeed key quality indicators such as Discharges by 9am, length of stay and patient satisfaction scores, and in a hospital-wide Hand Hygiene Initiative. As a clinician-educator, I conducted regular bi-weekly in-service trainings for nurses and house staff on a wide range of medical topics. In 2015, I was awarded the Vice President’s Award for Medical Excellence by MedStar Washington Hospital Center for my exemplary service and dedication. After I transitioned over to MedStar Montgomery Medical Center in 2017, Not only I was awarded to be ‘Physician of the Year’ within my first year of appointment.Through my 5-year tenure with a private hospitalist group practice in Tampa, FL, I gained vast experience in various local hospitals (including teaching, VA, community, and long-term care hospitals). As a result, I am highly knowledgeable about the full spectrum of the ways in which hospital systems function: from multiple forms of EMRs, to nursing styles, to the efficiency of social services - as only a few examples.Quality of patient care is of the highest importance to me. I believe hospitalists must bring both rigorous evidence-based clinical training and effective communication skills and empathy to the bedside. Clinical efficiency needs to arise from ideal workflow practices, but should never be achieved at the cost of time with patients and families. I endeavor to treat my patients with the same consideration I would expect for my own family members.My qualifications also include a graduate research degree (MPH in Epidemiology-Biostatistics), experience with the administrative, clinical, and analytical aspects of research, and several original research presentations at national medical meetings.
