Anna Pritchett, Associate State Director for Advocacy is responsible for engaging a statewide grassroots network of volunteers to champion issues important to AARP and the aging population, including health care, caregiving, food insecurity, financial security and elder abuse. She serves and has served on multiple task forces and convened coalitions to affect positive change in Alabama.She also managed a multi-faceted initiative designed to create a statewide awareness around the value of the 50+ workforce and their future impact on the state’s economy. AARP has convened business leaders across the state to craft the strategies to effectively engage the 50+ workforce as a business solution to worker and skill shortages. Pritchett came to AARP from the Alabama Department of Senior Services (ADSS) where she served as a policy advisor for the governor and as the public affairs officer. She was also responsible for implementing and managing the Alabama SenioRx: Partnership for Medication Access Program. Pritchett served on the Advisory Board for “Rx Access” - a nationally published newsletter by Volunteers in Healthcare and MedPin of California; the Senior Citizen’s Advisory Board for the Alabama Hospital Association, and the Board of Trustees for the Alabama Family Trust - a program to supplement the care, support, habilitation and treatment of persons who have a mental or physical impairment.
