Summer Intern with The Carter Center's Rosalynn Carter Mental Health ProgramIntern was able to: -Discuss ethical choices, values and professional practices implicit in public health decisions, considering the effect of those choices on social justice and accountability. -Assist with logistical planning for large events, including the Annual Rosalynn Carter Georgia Mental Health Forum and the Annual Training Meeting for The Rosalynn Carter Fellowships for Mental Health JournalismIntern was also able to: -Demonstrate understanding of the three core functions of public health (assessment, policy development, and assurance) within the Carter Center, the state and on a global scale to enact change with public health.-Conducted literature reviews, assisted with the development of concept notes, program reviews, and donor proposals. -Assisted in implementation of a three-day training of domestic journalists and international journalists from Qatar, United Arab Emirates, and Colombia on mental health and substance use issues. -Assisted in the planning and implementation of a regional forum in the state addressing school-based behavioral health-Assist in the compilation of comprehensive literature reviews and background research for scholarly usage and policy works and communication

- Researched the Human Genome Project along with a group of student interns (Science Lab provided by Dr. Victor Corces of Emory University)- Participated in a 5-6-year project researching many similar genome traits between humans and animals - Provided research in which could help provide cures to many illnesses and diseases including Cancers and Alzheimer’s disease- Research was eventually published in a national science journal (available upon request)
