In my current role I am completing a 3 month underwriting academy to gain underwriting authority. Following from this I will be working within the York Branch underwriting team. My second rotation will be direct commercial. My third rotation will be in the claims department.

Over the past year, I have worked as an Ambassador for the University of Leeds. My main responsibility is Open Day work. Within this role, I lead campus tours, assist in Q & A sessions and ensure all prospective students and parents feel comfortable and have a warm, friendly experience. Further, I offer a student perspective during welcome talks to groups of 50-100 people.

In my job role as a student caller, I was responsible for contacting alumni through phone calls and emails to establish and nurture relationships with them. The primary objective of these interactions was to raise funds for scholarships that will support current and future students in their educational pursuits. Additionally, I have received training in data protection to ensure the confidentiality and security of alumni information.

Ancient history first and second year student representative. I supported the communication between students and staff creating an open dialogue, in order to address any issues and improve student satisfaction on the course. I aided in organising a team building event for the Classics community. We hosted a Classics themed 'Quinquatria'. With the aims to develop closer working relationships with students and staff, as well as allowing students to meet like minded people, due to the pandemic causing many lectures to be held online.The event was a huge success.

From a very early age I assisted part-time in our family run business, Vennels Cafe. During my time there, I gained valuable experience in all areas of the business. I worked as front of house, a cleaner/clearer, cook, behind the counter and using the till. I also helped in social media marketing and shadowed financial business meetings. This experience has taught me the ins and outs of running a business, from behind the scenes to being right in the midst of it.
