I worked as a medical Receptionist at a busy GP practice. Main duties were interacting with patients & dealing with quires simular to my previous post.

My main duties were dealing with patients, face to face and on the telephone which is now one of my strongest skills. Other duties include dealing with patient queries as quickly as possible, issuing repeat prescriptions, making appointments, helping out all the doctors and nurses with many tasks, scanning of documents onto computer records, filing paper notes and forwarding up to date medical records to patient data.I also took on an extra two roles to cover maternity leave. This is dealing with all new born babies at the practice and the booking in of 6 week check examinations for both mother and baby. I’ve also taken on a Child Immunisation clinic which involves me being in the consulting room with parents and Children aged from 8weeks to 5years and assisting the practice nurse by completing all paper work for child health and inputting all the data from the morning clinic into our computer system which was EMIS LV & Systmone.The surgery could get very hectic at times but I find I personally work better when there are lots of things to do.
