Science writer, developmental/copyeditor, skilled cat herder. I specialize in coordinating teams of scientists and lay people to create attractive publications that are scientifically accurate, consistent in tone, and easy to understand. Climate change and land protection are close to my heart, especially projects that involve Indigenous Peoples and/or local communities. I work with coalitions to get things done.

Established new program sites at three prisons in California, including Insight Garden Program’s first expansion site at California State Prison-Solano.• Facilitated a trauma-informed, holistic, experiential curriculum connecting self, community, and nature, with approximately 700 total incarcerated participants.• During COVID, pivoted to create interactive, accessible correspondence curriculum and respond to participants’ work; led social-emotional learning team; co-wrote 2 units on gardening skills and plant biology. • Co-created garden sites with incarcerated participants and pro bono landscape designers.• Mentored new program managers.• Recruited, trained, and supervised volunteers.

Worked with recreational therapists at California Medical Facility to adapt curriculum for mental health patients and make gardening available as a treatment modality.Culture of Health Leaders is a national leadership development program supported by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation. Coordinated UC Press ebook production for approximately 190 books a year. Grew UC Press ebook production program by doing the following: • Advocated for, initiated, and managed a quality control system that improved readability and reduced errors across all books.• Designed and implemented an efficient tracking system.• Educated staff on ebook technology.• Established and enforced workflow and quality control procedures with editors, marketers, and vendors.Maintained electronic editing system based on Microsoft Word. Assessed editors' needs for features and usability, tracked issues with editing system, updated system as needed to be compatible with Word update, added features as needed to improve efficiency.

Designed, produced, and maintained web site for Putah-Cache Bioregion Project (PCBR) and PSRP using HTML, CSS, Adobe Photoshop.• Designed and produced web book, Putah and Cache: The Thinking Mammal’s Guide to the Bioregion. • Wrote narratives for “Return of the Salmon,” successful EPA education grant, and “River of Learning,” NSF education grant, for PSRP.
