Amy Heger Email and Phone Number
I have a passion for service and enjoy helping people. It is the best feeling to know you helped someone with a task or solved a problem. Seeing the smile on their face, or hearing the relief in their voice is an amazing moment to experience. To me, life is about being of service and helping people who I meet along my journey.I have had the honor of working as a 911 Police, Fire and EMS dispatcher for over 20 years. Just when I think I have heard it all, the next call comes in and it is something new and different. The quote from Forrest Gump, "Life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you're going to get!" couldn't ring more true in my profession. The fast paced, high stress, and ever-changing world of being a 911 dispatcher is a very unique experience and one that I cherish. Helping the citizens in their time of need and supporting our first responders has been a once in a lifetime opportunity. My years of experience have led me to become a highly organized, skilled multi-tasker who enjoys ambiguity and working under pressure. I am curious by nature and work to continuously expand my knowledge and improve my skills. Every day is a new experience and that is the best part of life!

I conduct quarterly QAs, semiannual evaluations, for each member of my team.I coordinate continuing education for the entire 911 center of thirty-six employees which includes tracking continuing education hours, creating content for in-service and on-duty training every month, teaching training at in-service, coordinating certification renewals (notary/CPR/EMD/CTO), scheduling vendors for hosted training at our agency and coordinating external training and travel for the entire center.I am the project manager responsible for coordinating emergency dispatch services for special events for all eight agencies we serve. These special events include The Memorial Golf Tournament, Dublin Irish Festival and Fourth of July celebrations just to name a few. Successful management of these events include scheduling staff, creating instructional documentation, verifying radio interoperability, coordinating additional equipment and creating after-action reports. Each event must be properly managed to coincide with the day-to-day emergency operations, which require organization, considerable time, attention to detail and creative problem resolution.I coordinate monthly management and supervisory meetings to include creating the agenda, facilitating the meeting, tracking completion of tasks and composing meeting minutes.I create and update content on our intranet page as well as create and update all Microsoft Forms, corresponding Power Automate flows and Planner tasks. During my employment at Sterling, I worked with a team to build our knowledge library to facilitate quick resolutions to problems that may arise on the network, within the servers or data failures in the software. I was also involved with the Gentran EDI Team where I became a subject matter expert.Due to my experience with EDI, I was contacted by Abercrombie & Fitch regarding a position in their newly created EDI Department. Once there, I lead a team of three people, worked closely with our merchants to establish their requirements and then coordinated with our programmers to create, test and implement EDI for Abercrombie & Fitch. I was also responsible for creating all User Guides and internal documentation for the project.I then transitioned to Cardinal Health to assist them with merging their two pharmacy mail ordering teams into one team. We traveled to Folsom, California to have direct contact with vendors and the mail order team to learn more about their systems and requirements in order to facilitate a smooth transition with the new team back in Dublin, Ohio. We were tasked with monitoring data flow, testing the new ordering process, implementing any required changes or bug fixes and continued monitoring of the system to ensure timely delivery of orders so as not to delay delivery of vital medications.
