About Amy Quintel
I'm a 3D animator living in Australia. I currently work at A44 Games in NZ and have been there since November 2022. Prior to that I was at Mighty Kingdom for over 5 years. I have worked on, and shipped, over 10 mobile and console titles. I've worked with clients such as Lego, Moose, Disney, Mattel, East Side Games, Floating Rock, and worked in a variety of styles and on a range of characters.My animation career begun in 2014 when I attended TafeSA and undertook the Advanced Diploma of Screen and Media (Specialising in CGI and VFX) for two years. In 2016, I then went on to attend Flinders University to complete the Bachelor of Creative Arts (Digital Media) to further my skills and create more pieces to improve my showreel. During my time at Flinders I also undertook a 3D Animation class, a Digital Painting class and a 2D Animation class at CDW (CDW Studios School of Visual Effects and Entertainment Design).Please check out my Vimeo account here: https://vimeo.com/amyquintel

Animator
Lead Animator - Star Trek Lower Decks Mobile
While in this role, I lead a small team of animators throughout the current lifetime of the development cycle, I communicated closely with the Product Manager, Lead Game Designer and the Narrative Design team to effectively adhere to the brand, assist with cutscene creation, and lend my knowledge around implementing a new tool. I was also in close communication with the Lead Rigger, 2D Art team and the Narrative team to execute new processes and assist with the rigging pipeline. I was in charge of documenting the animation pipeline, assisting with any documentation for the rigging process, and creating thorough documentation around tools and processes for the team as well as content creation for the cutscenes and minigames. I have collaborated with clients at various points throughout the duration of this project as well as lead and assisted with various workshops on Spine, and 2D Animation. This role has given me more confidence and understanding around leadership and priorities within the project, as well as further understanding of what is required from a lead. The project has allowed me to develop further understanding of the 2D Rigging pipeline which will allow me to assist any future riggers and animators who join the project. I have further strengthened my communication and collaboration skills, and the project has given me an opportunity to further test my documentation capabilities.

Lead Animator - Barbie'S Fashion Closet
While in this role, I lead a small team of animators throughout a small portion of thedevelopment cycle, I communicated closely with the product manager, producer and rigging team to help understand and filter through the models and animations we received from Genera Games. I was also in charge of research around style adaptation, to make sure our new content aligned with the old content while still keeping on brand with the Barbie name. I was in charge of documentation througout the whole development cycle, as well as onboarding, mentoring and overseeing new animators as I transitioned to a new project.This role has reinforced my understanding of the pipeline, further strengthened my communication skills as well as reinforced the importance of thorough and extensive documentation, especially in regards to taking on an existing project.

While in this role, I lead a small team of animators throughout the majority of thedevelopment cycle, I communicated closely with the product manager, producer andnarrative designers to effectively execute their vision as well as designed, implemented and documented processes for other animators to follow.This role has given me a better understanding of the pipeline, strengthened my communication skills as well as taught me the importance of thorough and extensive documentation.
