Providing executive leadership to the Graduation Plus College Access & Success Services and Leadership & Services Department.Continuing leadership and visionary planning for our to and through college programs within the Graduation Plus Programs (Grad Plus). Including providing leadership, vision, guidance, and identifying financial resources to create the organization’s first college, career, and leadership center, “The Ready Center.” The Grad Plus collection of programs includes BMO Scholars, Future College Scholars, Soref Scholars, Sponsor-A-Scholar, and Stein Scholars. In addition to cohort-based programs, overseeing agency-wide scholarship programs that award nearly $800,000 in scholarships annually. New to my role: Providing oversight and implementation for national BGCA teen curriculums and programs, including Torch Club, Youth of the Year, Girls and Boys Programming, Keystone Programming, and other leadership and service programming. Greater emphasis on strategic planning and alignment, continued fundraising, community building, collaboration, grant writing, and programming implementation for both departments. Leadership in both departments includes overseeing $2-million in budget funding and supervision of close to 20 employees.

Greater Milwaukee Area

Providing leadership to the Graduation Plus College Access & Success Services Department at Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Milwaukee. Responsible for the vision and overseeing of the Sponsor-A-Scholar College Access & Success Program, the Stein Scholars College Access & Success Program, the GEAR UP Program (in partnership with Milwaukee Public Schools), the BMO Scholars College Access & Success Program, the Diplomas 2 Degrees Program, the College Corners Initiative, Future College Scholars Program, and Agency Scholarships. Responsible for a $1,700,000 budget annually, responsible for growing and developing current and new programs. Responsible for donor and community relations, responsible for staff leadership and supervision, and oversee a portfolio of over 700 students annually. Successfully assisted with securing close to $1,000,000 of new funding for department as well as the creation and implementation of the Future College Scholars Program.

Greater Milwaukee Area

Provided transitional leadership and oversight for the college access & success division at Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Milwaukee. Programs within the division include, GEAR UP, Stein Scholars College Access & Success Program, Sponsor-A-Scholar College Access & Success Program, College Corners, Diplomas 2 Degrees (AmeriCorps), TEAM GEAR UP (in partnership with Milwaukee Public Schools), and agency scholarships.

Greater Milwaukee Area

Managed and implemented all programming and outcome driven goals for the Stein Scholars College Access & Success Program, Sponsor-A-Scholar College Access & Success Program, College Corners Program, and Diplomas 2 Degrees Program in the education & career core service area. Responsible for supervision, programming and academic planning for a cohort of 80 high school students throughout the city of Milwaukee. Responsible for coaching students on college access and success including: ACT Prep, Financial Aid, career exploration and development, college fit, and scholarship exploration. Responsible for recruiting program participants, responsible for program budget, responsible for supervision of select club staff, and volunteers. Responsible for large scale event planning and developing community, school, and college partnerships.

Assist diverse student populations with academic planning and advising, concentrating on the unique needs of students to include transfer credits, length of time commitment and financial impacts. Conduct Student Success Workshop presentations to inform students of campus resources to enhance their educational experience and success. Assist students with enrollment, testing, and schedule planning vital to successful completion of academic goals. Develop and facilitate Academic Advising informational sessions for diverse groups of students. Assisted with development and implementation of the Brother to Brother Mentoring Program with the Office of Multicultural Affairs.

Oversaw and implemented camp curriculum to support the academic needs of camp participants in math, science, history, grammar, writing, computers, and exposed students to career options. Recruited participants for Summer Academic Camps & Educational Talent Search based on economic status and educational goals from schools throughout the State of Wisconsin. Recruited and hired ETS staff support, camp instructors, and tutor/counselors; supervised staff. Created and managed program budget.Collected data and generated written reports for campus, state, and federal entities including the Office of Multicultural Affairs & Student Success, the U.S. Department of Education, and the State of Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction on program outcomes.

Conducted weekly high-school visits at target schools in Milwaukee, WI to assist students with their post-secondary educational goals. Planned Saturday College Programs, After School Tutorial Program, Parent & Student Orientation Meetings, and Educational Enrichment Trips for student development and college exploration. Advised program participants with college applications, financial aid, higher education options, academics, and personal issues. Coordinated the GED 02 Program, a partnership with Milwaukee Public Schools.

Exposed students to careers in higher education by developing participatory projects in various departments. Attended vice president’s cabinet & divisional meetings to learn more about the day to day operations of the Division of Student Affairs at Marquette University. Generated written reports for the Office of Residence Life based on student satisfaction surveys. Organized events, meetings, and listening sessions for students and staff members.
