In my current role as an assistant nurse manager, leading by example and practicing frequent self-assessments when managing my team have earned me the respect of my coworkers. Strategizing with an interdisciplinary team, with the goal of excellence in delivering safe, evidenced-based patient care, is something I pride myself on. I strive to contribute to performance improvement, which creates an optimum work environment for staff and improves staff retention. During my short tenure at Cleveland Clinic Martin South's emergency department, I am proud to say that we achieved the prestigious Lantern Award in July 2024.I was an employee at Overlook Medical Center for fourteen years. During my tenure, this hospital achieved Magnet status, and became a comprehensive stroke center. The emergency department also achieved the coveted Emergency Nurses Association's prestigious Lantern Award during my term of employment. I grew in my role from a staff nurse becoming a preceptor, triage capable and charge capable. I served on several committees and have been nominated five times for the Daisy Award and have received numerous complimentary emails and letters from patients.I am seeking to advance my career in nursing by building on the vast knowledge I’ve gained. Nursing is my calling, not just a profession, my passion is teaching, and l want to use both my calling and passion to ignite the love of nursing in students seeking to serve others. My goal is to complete my Masters of Science in Nursing with a focus on education, which I started in 2023 to satisfy my purpose by continuing to serve others in another capacity.
