The mission of the Sandusky County Communities Foundation is to enhance the well-being of the people and communities of Sandusky County by managing permanent investments for philanthropic goals.​Our mission is accomplished by:Identifying community needs;Building permanent endowments to address these community needs;Administering grant and scholarship programs;Educating private, corporate and non-profit sectors about the power of endowed philanthropic giving;Providing individuals and non-profits with a tax exempt option for donations;Funding projects that directly benefit the youth of our communities through our youth division, Building Communities Together (BCT).

Giving Birthdays is a 501c3 that provides youth in foster care the opportunity to celebrate their birthday and make a birthday wish!

MAINTAINING OF RECORDS: Establish and maintain a filing system for all SCEDC records that include as follows: Available building and site information that is verified and updated in SCEDC’s database quarterly; maintain statistical information for prospect inquiries including area major employers, union status, business directory, new and expanded businesses, profile data of Sandusky County, wage and traffic surveys, and any other required data needs; and review and edit documents.MEETING PREPARATION: Prepare notices and agendas for all SCEDC meetings. Keep board packets up-to-date with minutes, agenda and financial reports. Attend meetings as required, record and distribute minutes. Coordinate all meeting room space in the SCEDC suite. COMMUNICATION: Regular contact with public, local officials, community leaders, elected officials, volunteers and board members on business-related matters.MARKETING: Oversee the development of the SCEDC annual Marketing Plan. Provide ongoing communication for SCEDC which includes social media posts, monthly newsletter, press releases and articles and ensure website is updated accurately and appropriately. Monthly marketing engagement reports are required.• Work closely with outside contractors to create marketing videos to promote the county and economic development.PROGRAMS: Responsible for submitting RFI’s in timely manner in response to leads generated through JobsOhio, RGP and companies. Producing a monthly report of activities on leads is a requirement of the job as well.• Research and write grants or seek sponsorships based off of the needs of the organization.EVENT COORDINATION: Assist with organizing various SCEDC activities including but not limited to: SCEDC Investor Annual Meeting including the Annual Report or Annual Review Video, Investor Roundtables, THINK Manufacturing Showcase, THINK Job Fair and THINK Bus Tour.• Ensure sponsor recognition is correct in all event materials

Received by exceptional volunteer work in the community which built stronger business relationships with other local companies.• Spearheaded company fundraiser effort for the Relay for Life charity event.• Researched and developed a volunteer program which resulted in team building and personal development with employees, along with marketing the company in a positive way.• Experience in interviewing candidates for open positions in the breakfast department.• Responsible for training in the breakfast department.• Take weekly inventory to ensure items are stocked appropriately based off of hotel expected occupancy for the week. • Order food and guest supply based on monthly budget, when the assistant manager was unavailable.• Knowledge of breakfast items for dietary issues. • Help provide administrative support by having knowledge of the front desk and daily reports. • Work directly with managers to resolve guest complaints.• Provide exceptional customer service by being a liaison between the hotel and the customer by answering guest questions and starting daily conversations.
