Andrea Louise is originally from the Peace River District; Goodlow, Fort St. John and Grande Prairie are a few places she’s called home. With family names of Campbell, Martineau, Wanatch, Joachim, Waniyandi, Calihoo and Gladue her Métis roots are deep. Andrea began her career with Cenovus (then EnCana) after completing a program at SAIT called Oil and Gas Land Administration for Urban Aboriginals in 2008. After spending eleven years in Surface Land she moved to the Community and Indigenous Affairs team as the Indigenous Inclusion Advisor, a role that has allowed her to share her culture, traditions and knowledge to help advance Indigenous Reconciliation. Andrea is also the Vice-Chair of our employee resource group, the Indigenous Community Sharing Circle. Andrea is very active in the Métis community in Calgary and has been celebrated for her success by the Métis Nation of Alberta Region 3 by receiving recognition at the 2015 Entrepreneurial Awards. She is also a member of the New Dawn Region Three Committee that works to preserve Métis culture and traditions through a sisterhood of Michif women that also support Women of the Métis Nation -Les Femmes Michif Otipemsiwak (LFMO).Andrea’s greatest success is raising two remarkable daughters that have blessed her with the most beautiful gifts; her grandchildren.You can reach Andrea at andrealouise.metis@gmail.ca
