Instructed two classes for the Child development program at Franklin Elementary School. Leading preschool and kindergarten students in meaningful and engaging activities in all subjects. My students were primarily Spanish speakers and through the use of active English language immersion techniques my students developed strong skills in reading, writing and speaking. I also led staff development sessions in using technology in the classroom as well as assisted other teachers in their individual professional development.

Team-taught several financial camps/workshops for teens and preteens and coordinated the daily running of the office. Arranged for all details of the successful execution of the camps including but not limited to venues, materials, and oversight of a network of Creative Wealth coaches and partner organizations. When instructing, used accelerated teaching techniques to bring complex financial strategies to students. Taught ideas ranging from managing money, retirement planning to investing early and wisely. Students left with a wealth of knowledge, new friends and an appreciation for the tools to make all their dreams come true.

Tutored 7th and 8th grade high risk English language learners in the core subjects of math and reading. Met with students 8 hours a week to provide intensive support to bring students to meeting and exceeding state standards. Used structured English immersion strategies coupled with a nurturing environment of high expectations to assist students in reaching goals and building study habits.

Provided daily instruction in all subjects, using differentiation, structured English immersion, inclusion methods and consistent engagement techniques that created a classroom community of learners. During my time there I moved a majority of my students from ELL to English proficient on state testing, created a new grade level report card, headed a committee which successfully achieved North Central Association accreditation for the school, tutored students ranging from 1st –8th grade in multiple subjects, coordinated grade level meetings, created a scope and sequence for curriculum K-3 with a select team of colleagues, assisted the principal with school improvement planning and much more.
