History of Me uses Hip Hop pedagogy to explore personal identities and histories, gain a better understanding of personal strengths, and how to ensure that our actions are in line with our values.It was piloted in 17 schools and organizations with over 400 students in St. Croix, USVI, and resulted in two published books of student poetry and a student-produced documentary.
Square Peg Syndrome, is a one-man (+1 DJ, whatup MINDSpray) play about a biracial student stuck in detention after a schoolwide race riot. It debuted in Prague, CZ at Divadlo Archa and was the basis for A History of Me, a 6-week writing and performance curriculum for students of all ages. The curriculum was piloted for over 400 students in St. Croix, USVI.
