I worked as an assistant to Nancy Sikora in her CPA firm. • Bookkeeping: Using Quickbooks I reconcile accounts, enter expenses and income, and provide the clients with quarterly financial reports such as a balance sheet and P&L. I process 1096s and 1099s for our clients using 1099 Express. I print and distribute 1099s and electronically file for the clients. • Payroll: I process monthly payroll through Quickbooks. I use the IRS EFTPS and Revenue Online to make monthly tax deposits for our payroll clients. I provide their quarterly 941 forms through Quickbooks and use the Otter program to submit their OQ reports. I take care of the clients’ W-2s, W-3s, OR-WRs, Form 940, and submit the iWire reporting.• Tax return processing: I organize and enter the initial tax information into our tax software, Lacerte, using the tax documents provided by the clients. I enter information from their W2s, 1099s, 1098s, business balance sheets (for clients with businesses), and any additional tax information they report. I also print the tax returns and electronically file the returns for the clients.• General clerical duties: I answer phones, contact clients, scan documents, organize files using an electronic filing system, order and restock supplies, send out reminder letters and bills to clients, and provide any additional help needed.
