Senior military justice policy advisor to the Secretary of the Air Force, Chief of Staff of the Air Force, and the Judge Advocate General. Supervises 13 attorneys and 7 paralegals to execute the administration of military justice for the Department of the Air Force. Voting group member for the Department of the Air Force on the Joint Service Committee. Testifies on military justice matters for multiple defense advisory committees.

Deputy legal counsel to three star general officer on multiple areas of the law to include the felony level prosecution of Airman and Guardians, this, labor law, fiscal law, and operations law. Supervised 11 attorneys and 3 paralegals supporting two installation legal offices.

Fused two installation legal offices together with the stand up of the United States Space force and led a 38 member legal office serving 100,000 active duty members, retirees, and civilian employees. Primary legal advisor for 50+ commanders on execution of $4.5 billion contract portfolio, ethics, and over 20 equal opportunity investigations. Mentored junior attorneys through advisement for 100 investigations and prosecution of 21 trials.

Led the Air Force’s largest discipline program, mentored 150 junior attorneys, prosecuted 118 trials. Revamped prosecution program at two installation legal offices, moving 51 cases closer to trial. Provided litigation training to 204 junior attorneys and paralegals located at nine legal offices.

Supervised nine attorneys and eight paralegals. Mentored junior prosecutors in prosecution of felony & misdemeanor level cases at all phases of trial. Advised Air Force Office of Special Investigations in primarily felony level criminal investigations. Personally prosecuted multiple cases to include serving as lead counsel in an attempted premeditated murder trial. Advised on multiple other issues to include ethics, fiscal law, employment and labor law, and operations law.

Lead defense attorney in over 50 trials involving charges of child abuse, sexual assault, drug offenses, and larceny with multiple full and partial acquittals. Supervised ten defense attorneys & paralegals in Washington, Montana, and Alaska. Prepared extensive mitigation/extenuation sentencing presentations, memorandums, and arguments for use in sentencing proceedings before both juries and military judges. Developed and taught trial advocacy courses as adjunct faculty at the Judge Advocate General School.

Assisted 300 Air Force members in various adverse actions to include 30 courts-martial. Acted as lead counsel, or sole counsel, in numerous courts-martial. Successfully wrote and litigated motions that won relief for clients. Crossed-examined multiple alleged victims leading to the dismissal of charges after the preliminary hearing or findings of not guilty at trial. Gained extensive experience in all aspects of criminal litigation from inception through trial. Attended a trial defense advocacy course and an advanced trial advocacy course.

Supervised 2 attorneys and 6 paralegals during the first year while managing the civil law section. Represented the government as lead counsel and mentored younger attorneys in the prosecution of Airmen at 12 courts-martial. Ran the second-busiest criminal law office in the Air Force during second year. Took backlog of cases and moved 12 to formal charges in under 30 days. Supervised 4 attorneys and 7 paralegals through the execution of 21 courts-martial in one year.

Advised commanders on criminal law matters, ethics, the proper use of government funds and assets, and reviewed multimillion-dollar contracts. Represented the Air Force in the prosecution of Airmen in 8 courts-martial. Deployed to Iraq in support of detainee operations and made recommendations on the continued detention or prosecution of 755 individuals. Acted as a Special US Attorney and prosecuted civilians accused of committing crimes on the Air Force installation. Provided legal assistance to military members on multiple topics to include divorce, child custody, contracts, estate planning and other civil matters.
