I’m a Senior Software Engineer at Salesforce. There and at Diffeo (which Salesforce acquired in 2019), I’ve primarily focused on backend engineering, particularly developing data integrations with third-party services. Prior to that, I wrote code in compressive genomics at Bonnie Berger’s lab at MIT.I’m a highly curious lifelong learner because I like to understand the big picture. For example, I taught myself frontend engineering in my spare time, which also improved my backend skills by giving me insights into how data from the backend is used on the frontend, as well as my skills facilitating communication across roles in general. More recently, I’ve been exploring how to solve problems in the world of AI.Community is very important to me, particularly the community around my favorite programming language, Go. I’ve been a meetup organizer at Boston Go since 2015, and I’m passionate about building supportive communities and helping tech professionals at all experience levels and career stages grow their careers. I do this by writing tutorials, mentoring at workshops, doing public speaking, participating in communities like #CodeNewbie and #TechIsHiring, and learning from people from marginalized groups in tech in order to make tech communities healthier and more inclusive.Most recently, I’ve gotten into neurodiversity advocacy, both informally through social media and formally as the events chair of the neurodiversity subgroup of Salesforce’s Abilityforce group. I firmly believe that neuroinclusion in tech not only helps neurodivergent (for example autistic, kinetic/ADHD, dyslexic) people; it also leads to a healthier, more innovative tech community in which innovators of all neurotypes can do great work in a supportive environment.When I’m not on the job, you can find me running or biking in the Boston area, cooking, video gaming, or playing with my dog Lola the Micropanda.
