I strongly believe that a good sales manager, is a good coach first and foremost. I get up every morning excited by the challenge of working with my teams, demonstrating the right behaviours and hitting those numbers! I’m a professional sales manager with a history in fluid management infrastructure, electrical safety systems, and related industrial computing technologies. I love it when we leverage modern technologies to help our clients overcome business challenges in new and innovative ways. The life of a salesperson is not an easy one, so I make it a priority to motivate my team towards success every day. My job is to remind the team that it’s challenging but exciting. That it can be hard but rewarding. That opportunities are created, not handed out. That planning prevents failure. That hard work pays off! By consistently building trust with clients, planning and communicating efficiently, coaching positive practices, encouraging creativity and holding each other accountable we achieve great outcomes for our customers, and for our business. My favourite recent projects have probably been the fluid management infrastructure, electrical and computing systems for Rio Tinto’s Amrun project, and Vale’s Moatize project. These were both large initiatives to leverage the latest technology for fluid transfer, security and safety. There was a great deal of collaboration and planning across organisations and regions to get these initiatives off the ground. The outcomes are scalable and future-proofed fluid management solutions, that deliver the insights customer businesses need to continuously improve and achieve best-in-class productivity.
