    Originally hired for the Integrations team as a parental backfill for a paternity leave employee, my primary role was to develop new endpoints for the Etsy OpenAPI V3 as well as maintain the existing endpoints in both OpenAPI V3 and V2. I also maintained the OpenAPI documentation, updating for new endpoints, changes to existing endpoints and typographic errors. I worked closely with numerous team members, pairing to both help and receive help with work underway. I also was in charge of interacting directly with our integration partners that were consuming the new API via GitHub and email.During my time, Etsy has extended my contract 3 times giving me 20 months of contract time with them.

    When I came into GlobalcastMD, I joined in to help correct an ailing RoR website. I was able to patch and keep it going but very quickly the company decided to let me redo the entire system in PHP. Over approximately 2 months, I had transitioned their application to a PHP-based system, complete with event registration and payment capabilities.I have built a PWA that aggregates medical pediatric surgery knowledge from all over the internet into a single reference app that medical professionals can use on a daily basis. I later rebuilt it as a RESTful API for true mobile apps created to replace the POC PWA.I also rapidly created a virtual conference system in early 2020 to provide a place for medical organizations and associations to host the suddenly canceled in-person events due to the pandemic.

    I was brought into CRG to maintain their existing Wordpress application and attempt to correct poor security issues allowing the site to get pharma-hacked many times. I successfully transitioned their entire web presence to a Code Igniter based PHP system with full control panel to manage their content and 20+ sub-sites. Additionally, I migrated them to AWS server LAMP stack using EC2. During my time with them I also implemented and modified an open-source ticketing system to replace PurplePass and other tools they were spending money on. I also implemented a PHP-based their email marketing system replacing another aging service they were no longer happy with.

I quickly refined the Laravel code and database to be more efficient running their proprietary job matching algorithm, taking the processing time of each job from 10+ minutes to less than 1 minute using async queued microservices. I also transitioned them from a non-cloud basic hosting environment into an AWS stack using EC2, RDS and several other services. During my time there I helped build a mobile friendly interface for the application, built a hiring process management tool for one of their major client corporations and implemented some micro services to convert the very synchronous process to fully async.
