Designed, developed, and supported shipping SQL database backed C++ application that supports network file systems (CIFS, NFS), manages file lifecycle of files both on disk and tape, and interacts with the tape library and RAID array(s) over Fibre Channel or SAS connections. This appliance acts as a tiered NAS-like archive.

Designed and implemented features with little to no supervision required. Effectively collaborated across organizational groups to actualize and test new products and features quickly and efficiently. Demonstrated mastery of design and development, as well as effective time management and task prioritization. Served the development team and company as an expert source of knowledge and model developer.Key Achievements:- Designed, prototyped, and developed a distributable UI Framework and widget library that uses GWT-compiled JavaScript to communicate with an arbitrary number of REST resources.- Collaboratively designed and wrote a VMWare VCenter plugin to manage and monitor LSI Storage from the VMWare Hypervisor.- Led and trained the team that developed and deployed an Enterprise level Storage Array SMI-S Provider as a replacement to the Java Provider.

Designed and developed features and resolved defects with proficiency and accuracy. Built a solid understanding of a variety of design principles and relevant APIs and affected software modules. Trained and mentored junior level developers and interns.Key Achievements:- Designed and built a reusable CIM Provider framework in C++ for interfacing with a variety of CIMOMs and several hardware APIs, called SBMA.- Used SBMA to deploy SMI-S Providers for LSI’s DAS offering.- Built on relationships to promote LSI penetration as an industry leader in SMI-S Provider interoperability.- Single-handedly took over development and maintenance of the large-scale Java SMI-S Provider application, rebuilt a team in the U.S., and finally oversaw its transition to a new development team as it moved to a maintenance-only status.- Trained and mentored employees and interns in CIM and SMI-S Provider development and support.

Implemented features using strong fundamental software development knowledge and a thirst for learning. Assisted in the design and development of important features, and handled many of the less glamorous tasks necessary for effective release including performing installer creation, build, and test reports, as well as providing support for legacy software. Evolved a strong understanding of the end-to-end process to produce a reliable, stable version of software from the cubicle to the customer.Key Achievements:- Contributed and participated in industry-wide engineering 'plugfests' for multiple storage vendor interoperability testing using SMI-S.- Developed SMI-S profiles and subprofiles for LSI block storage management via CIM.- Favorably represented LSI to competitors and partner OEMs in email, on the phone, and face-to-face.- Developed multi-platform installers for a Java-based CIM / SMI-S Provider suite and CIM Server, then automated the process to build all installer binaries with fire-and-forget build scripts.
